Zhang Li is the vice dean, professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Literature at Beijing Normal University. She is also the vice chairperson of the Beijing Writers' Association, the deputy director of the Prose Committee of the Chinese Writers' Association, the deputy director of the Women's Literature Committee of the Chinese Society for Contemporary Literature Studies, a judge of the 9th and 10th MAO Dun Literature Prizes, and the organizer of the "Holding a Small Flame - Women's Literature Good Book List".

Mainly engaged in the research of modern and contemporary Chinese literature and culture, as well as women's literature, through the comparison of past experience and current creations, it demonstrates an overall insight rich in female consciousness. She has authored works such as "The Occurrence of Modern Women's Writing in China (1898-1925)", "The Landscape of Novels", "The One Holding a Small Flame", "Rebuilding Sisterhood: Social Gender Consciousness and the Construction of the Modern Women's Literature Spectrum", "I Have Seen Countless Her", and "A Single Voice". Edited "Beijing in a Century of Literature", "Pick Up the Pen, Create Light", "Birds and the Ground: Twenty Short Stories of 2024", "Infinite Place: Twenty Contemporary Prose Writers of 2024", "Calm Sea: Selected Short Stories of Women in 2024", "Emotion: Selected Prose of Women in 2024", etc. Won the 8th Lu Xun Literature Prize for Literary Theory and Criticism, the 4th Outstanding Achievement Award for Chinese Women's Literature Studies, and the 4th Outstanding Achievement Award for Women/Gender Studies of the All-China Women's Federation and the China Women's Research Society. 张莉，北京师范大学文学院副院长、教授、博士生导师，北京作家协会副主席，中国作协散文委员会副主任，中国当代文学研究会女性文学委员会副主任，第九届、第十届茅盾文学奖评委，“持微火者·女性文学好书榜”主办人。
